Deputy Superintendent of Armed Police Force, Nepal Shailendra Thapa said that the number of death toll reached 105 in Jajarkot and 52 in Rukum Paschim.

Likewise, a total of 105 people are injured in Jajarkot district while 85 in Rukum Paschim and three each in Baitadi and Dailekh and one in Rolpa.

The injured ones are being taken to Nepalgunj, Kathmandu and other cities in the Nepal Army helicopters.

It is said that more than 1,500 security personnel have been deployed in the affected areas for the rescue and relief operations.

The agreements and MoU were signed between Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and his Chinese counterpart, Li Qiang, after bilateral meeting held at the Great Hall of the People today. Prime Minister Dahal is on an official visit to China since September 23.

The protocol was signed between Dr Poudel, (Livestock Development) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development and the Chinese official.

An agreement has been reached between the Chinese Department of Press and Publication and the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation on translation and publication of classics. The agreement was signed between Ambassador Shrestha and the Chinese officials.

Likewise, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of Nepal and the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China reached an agreement to cooperate in the fields of science, technology and innovation. The agreement was signed between Suresh Adhikari, Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and the Chinese officials.

Besides, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Ambassador Shrestha and the Chinese officials on the issues of disaster materials, human resources and the Hilsa-Simkot road project.

According to information shared at a press conference held in Pokhara today, the second edition of the golf tournament is going to be held September 16 at the golf course located at a height of 4,645 meters (15,239.5 feet) above sea level.

Two beds have been already allocated for VIP and VVIP persons on the first floor of the old building of the hospital. Minister for Health and Population Mohan Bahadur Basnet on Tuesday inaugurated the VIP and VVIP wards amid a function.

Beds have been added so patients get treatment for all sorts of diseases, said the minister.

“We have formed a 15-member team of specialist doctors from government and private hospitals for the same. The team of doctors provides treatment. No one needs to go to foreign countries for medical treatment,” he said.

Minister Basnet also directed office bearers of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS) and Bir Hospital to make the hospital service more effective.

Six people including Captain Chet Bahadur Gurung and five Mexican nationals were aboard the aircraft, according to Raju Neupane, operation and safety manager of Manang Air.

The helicopter of Manang Air with the call sign 9NA-MV en route to Kathmandu from Solukhumbu carrying six passengers on board including a pilot had gone missing since 10:01 am today.

Chief District Officer of Solukhumbu, Basanta Bhattarai, said the helicopter was found in a crashed condition and primary information was received that the chopper met with an accident at Lamjura pass.

The crash site lies at the border of Likhupike of Solukhumbu and Umakunda rural municipality of Ramechhap. Five bodies have been recovered at the incident site, he added.

A helicopter of Altitude Air from Kathmandu was mobilized to search the missing helicopter and a team of Nepal Police was deputed from Solukhumbu.

Manager of Manang Air, Raju Neupane, said the five passengers are Mexican nationals.
